Alibaba Group Holding (阿里巴巴集团控股有限公司) is an e-commerce company providing technology infrastructure and marketing services for the engagement of business customers. It operates in six business segments: Taobao and Tmall Group, Cloud Intelligence Group, Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group, Cainiao Smart Logistics Network Limited, Local Services Group, and Digital Media and Entertainment Group. The Taobao and Tmall Group is comprised of China commerce retail business and China commerce wholesale business. The Cloud Intelligence Group offers cloud services, based on a three-tier architecture of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and model-as-a-service (MaaS) to customers. The Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group consists of International commerce retail business and International commerce wholesale business. The Cainiao Smart Logistics Network Limited provides logistics solutions. The Local Services Group comprised of “To-Home” businesses which include Ele.me, a local services and on-demand delivery platform in China, and “To-Destination” businesses which mainly include Amap, the provider of mobile digital map, navigation, and real-time traffic information in China. The Digital Media and Entertainment Group includes Youku, an online long-form video platform that produces and distributes video content, and Alibaba Pictures, which provides content production, promotion and distribution, performance and event ticketing management, etc.
