Allstate is a company operating as a personal lines property and casualty insurer. It operates across five segments: Allstate Protection, Protection Services, Allstate Health and Benefits, Run-off Property-Liability, and Corporate and Other. The Allstate Protection segment offers private passenger auto, homeowners, other personal lines and commercial insurance through agents, contact centers, and online. The Protection Services segment includes Allstate Protection Plans, Allstate Dealer Services, Allstate Roadside, Arity and Allstate Identity Protection. The Allstate Health and Benefits segment offers voluntary benefits and individual life and health products, including life, accident, critical illness, short-term disability, and other health insurance products. The Run-off Property-Liability segment relates to property and casualty insurance policies written during the 1960s through the mid-1980s with exposure to asbestos, environmental, and other claims in run-off. The Corporate and Other segment includes holding company activities and certain non-insurance operations.
