William Payne first established the company in 1725 when he opened a blacksmith’s in Broadwater village, near Worthing, West Sussex. In 1874 Frank Manwaring joined the business and the company expanded into the maintenance of steam traction engines. The company has continued to expand over the years, constantly adding to its portfolio of services and products, and keeping pace with technical advances and industry developments. Paine Manwaring ensure all employees receive training in any advances to keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date and exploit all forms of modern technology within the fields of plumbing, heating and electrical. The Service Department currently maintains over 6,500 private customers and holds long-term contracts with local authorities including, Worthing Borough Council and local property management agents.
