Rubicon Labs is a cybersecurity startup founded by veterans of Apple and Broadcom with offices in San Francisco, California and Austin, Texas. Cyberwarfare is widespread in the cloud and now going kinetic. A quarter of a billion cars and some 25 billion devices will join the IoT by 2020. That means that cars, homes, and public spaces will join credit cards and PCs on the list of things that speak the same language. It also means they’ll join the list of things that can be hacked. Rubicon Labs is solving that problem with an IoT and cloud security platform. A minimal semiconductor footprint coupled with patented hardware root-of-trust protection means that our on-chip solution isn’t just light enough for what’s next—it’s secure enough to protect us as we move forward. Zero-knowledge keys are Rubicon Labs’ core innovation. We’ve patented technology for making secrets and keys inaccessible in memory. We uniquely couple a keyed one-way hash function with a secure memory space. This creates a provisionable vault with a key whose value is unknown, but still usable by the device. Our devices can construct zero-knowledge systems for digital identity and secure communication. Rubicon is using this innovation in key protection to solve the security challenges in the cloud and IoT.
